How to get unstuck without dramatic life choices. Trust Me, I’ve moved across three countries

Let’s start with the truth.

People don’t get stuck because they’re lost.
People get stuck because they
think too much and move too little.

A quick recap of my personal chaos:

In case you think clarity magically appeared in my life one day: No. Not even close.

I left Colombia for Australia.
Then Australia for Norway.
Then Norway for the Netherlands.

Did I have a perfect plan?
No.
Did I know my next ten steps?
Absolutely not.

All I had was this:
I knew staying where I was felt smaller than the person I wanted to become.

Excitement? Yes.
Fear? Always.
Pressure? Of course.
Clarity? Not really.

But I moved anyway. And that’s the reason everything changed.

So let’s talk about how you can move again too.

Why you’re stuck

You’re not stuck because you’re lazy. You’re stuck because you’re trying to make a decision while you’re overwhelmed. You want zero risk. You want clarity before action. You don’t want to disappoint anyone. You’re scared of choosing wrong. You’re waiting to feel “ready.” And honestly, you’re mentally exhausted. It’s like trying to build a bridge without ever touching the materials. Let’s fix that.

The method I used to move to three countries:

No drama. No “5-year plan.” No “find your purpose.” Just structure.

  • Because you can’t choose when you only see one choice.

When you’re stuck, your world shrinks.
Suddenly it feels like there’s only one path and you’re terrified to choose it.

    And, how to expand? 🔎

    1. Here is a list of 7 possible next steps.

Not because you’ll do all of them.
But because your brain needs space.

Include things like: moving to another country, shifting teams, changing industries, going back to study, internal promotion, short-term contracts, a side project, something random you thought of once but never said out loud

You need options before you can make decisions.

    2. Talk to two humans. 🤷‍♂️

      Actual humans.
Not YouTube. Not ChatGPT. Not your inner panic voice.

People who have done something similar to what you’re considering: someone who moved abroad, someone who changed industry, someone who made a career jump, someone with the lifestyle you want.

Two conversations can give you more clarity than two months of overthinking.

    3. Explore without committing.

Browse roles, check visas, look at programs, explore neighborhoods, read job descriptions.

      You’re just collecting information.
      Not marrying anyone.

      So the first step?
      Open the map.

      Not commit.
      Just open.

  • Find the option that feels like future-you.

Here’s where most people choose wrong:
They choose based on fear. Or their CV. Or what will look good on LinkedIn.

    We’re not doing that.

    We choose based on alignment.

    And, how to align?

    1. Ask this question:

“Which option feels like the next version of me?”

This question alone can delete half your confusion.

    2. Use your energy as a filter.

Every option will give you one of these three reactions:

    YES
    • maybe
    • ugh no

    Trust that. Energy is data.

    3. Choose the option that reduces friction.

    Aligned paths feel lighter.
    Not easy, but right.

    ✘ What no to do?

    • Don’t choose based on fear

    • Don’t choose based on status

    • Don’t choose based on what others expect

    • Don’t ignore your body

    • Don’t go back to old versions of yourself

  • This is the part most people skip.
    They want clarity before action.

But that’s not how it works.
    Movement creates clarity. Always.

And, how to move (Low-Drama Edition)

    1. Choose ONE micro-action for the next 48 hours.

      Not a plan.

Just something small: apply for one role, message one person, register for one course, explore one neighborhood, write one page of thoughts, attend one event

      Just one.

    2. Put it in your calendar.

If it’s not scheduled, it doesn’t exist.

    3. After one week, review:

      “What did movement teach me?”

      You’ll be surprised.
Movement gives you signals: what feels right, what feels wrong, what excites you, what drains you, what direction is calling you

Signals = clarity. Clarity = confidence.

    Confidence = movement.

    And the cycle continues.

A quick truth

Every big shift in my life came from one small movement.
Not certainty. Not strategy.
Movement.

If you’re stuck, your issue is not lack of answers.
It’s lack of movement.

Let’s fix that.
